Hello! I was born and raised in Queens, NY. In 2010, I moved to Massapequa, Long Island. Currently, I hold 3 degrees. I obtained a Liberal Arts Degree from Nassau Community College. I then received my bachelors of science degree in Criminology from John Jay College and just last year, I received my Masters degree in Childhood Education 1-6/ TESOL. In the near future, I am looking to return back to school for my Administrative Degree. I have been a teacher for two years. My first year of teaching started at Lido Elementary. My favorite Bible verse comes from (Psalms 23:1-6) “The Lord is my shepherd; there is nothing I lack. In green pastures you let me graze; to safe waters you lead me; you restore my strength. You guide me along the right path for the sake of your name. Even when I walk through a dark valley, I fear no harm for you are at my side; your rod and staff give me courage.”
I invite students from all ages to come to enjoy my class, whether they are my students or not. Being a young male teacher, it gives me a different perspective to see what children want and need. My classroom is filled with fun and creative activities all while learning in a safe environment. In addition to that, my classroom consists of many beautiful colors and art work, all which are appealing to a student's eyes. The way I incorporate technology into my teaching makes my classroom unique in a way where students feel comfortable with things they may be familiar with at home.
This year, my classroom and the way I teach is a lot different than the previous school year. Last year's pandemic was not only hard for teachers, but students as well. Students need that creativity and warm welcomes from their teachers and classmates. Every student is still a child at heart, including myself. We enjoy the interaction with one another and it makes learning more fun. On top of that, children learn from each other as well! I enjoy making my students feel comfortable and want them to feel comfortable with each other, that is why i'm super excited that students are learning with each other and not alone. My class is a family and every student knows that. Not only do we celebrate wins, but we celebrate losses and learn from our mistakes in order to succeed in the future. My favorite quote which I tell my students all the time is “No put downs, only lift ups!” Children are born into this world as a shapeless piece of clay for them to be formed and sculpted into bright individuals and that is something I promise to do.
Message to Parents
I want to send out my thanks and gratitude to parents for choosing our school, Our Lady of Guadalupe, to send to their students. It is an honor to teach at a catholic school and implement dual language teaching into my everyday practices. I am super excited to learn more about not only my students parents but any other parent they may even want to say hi or learn more about me. Throughout the year, I communicate with parents not only through email but through Class Dojo. Class Dojo is an excellent application that can be downloaded on any smart device and can be accessed on the computer as well. Another way parents can communicate with me is on Google Classroom. Not only do I post important information and assignments on Google Classroom but I post interactive learning games such as Kahoot and occasionally students will have fun activities they can do at home! We will have a fantastic school year and I can not wait to know more about all of our new students and parents!
